Rwanda, for the first time ever. Because we tasted it and thought wow, what a beautiful coffee.
It’s from the Mahembe washing station, owned by Justin Musabyiama and located on his father’s farm some 1900 masl in the Nyamasheke district. It’s a fully washed coffee made up of the red bourbon variety and is a combination of cherry picked by Justin on his own farm and local smallholders. The collective work of the staff and producers with the picking, sorting and careful processing is what makes this coffee so superb. We tasted blackcurrant, peach with a long, intense toffee sweetness. Hot damn!
