This coffee was bought through the Ethiopian Cup Auction organised by Trabocca last year and it is exceptional! Lex had the privilege of being invited to be on the jury of the auction and spotted a few gems, this was one of them. We bought a small amount and it is kept in deep freeze - bought out only for special occasions. This is one of those.
It's from the Adorsi washing station located at 2050masl and produced by the Idido community in Yirgacheffe. It is mainly made up of the Kurume variety, although there are other varieties in there too.
Some say it’s just a normal natural process that has been carried out, all we know is, if that's the case they must have nailed it because this is not a normal natural! It’s winey mouthfeel delivers a dark chocolate bonbon note that falls away to a floral complexity. There’s mango and red grape and a light black tea finish.
