Hailing from one of the largest growing areas of the Gedeb region and processed at the renowned Halo washing station, it is our absolute honor to welcome ‘Benti Halo’ at Keen Coffee for the first time this year. The dedicated farmers in this region benefit from rich, fertile red soils and high altitudes, resulting in one of the best harvests from this area. At the washing station, this exceptional coffee undergoes meticulous processes to ensure that only the finest beans make it into this lot. The first quality control happens during depulping, followed by another grading in channels. In this stage, lower quality cherries with less density float and are removed, leaving the denser, higher quality beans to be separated into this higher grated lot.
During our latest ‘Ethiopia cupping’, Benti Halo significantly stood out, showcasing its remarkable qualities. It was a no-brainer to feature it in our coffee line up.
